We love tea, and we are now offering you a lovely opportunity to have a nice cup of our very own organic teas.  We have begun with 12 different types for your tasting pleasure.

Black:  Tali’s Masala Chai, Biodynamic Breakfast and Cream of Earl Grey

Green:  Golden Green Dragon with Jasmine, Japanese Bancha, and Gunpowder

White:  Biodynamic Bai Mu Dan and Gogi Blossom

Herbal:  Peach Rooisbos, French Lemon Ginger, and Peppermint

How lovely to be associated with “oh, it’s that time of year again.”  How lovely to be associated with the presence of Spring and the coming of Summer.

We are so excited about many things this year.  First off, we’ve repainted, created mosaic roses, and have a new and beautiful look to the cafe.  Stop by and check it out.

We are going to be adding some new items to our menu:

Panini sandwiches–turkey cranberry goat cheese and sun-dried tomato/artichoke, mozza melt–coming soon!

We have created lots of options for mixing and matching fries, yam fries and poutine with our ever famous battered fish, chicken bites and organic tofu fingers.

In the near future, we will be serving  a delightful and scrumptious organic pancake breakfast in the park, Saturday and Sunday mornings.  We will include some fresh fruit and whipped cream for the topping.

We are very pleased to announce that we will be offering our own line of Rose Garden Cafe Organic Teas–why not, we love tea!!!  We will offer teapots and teacups as in the past and we will have some fresh baked items as well.  Kettle’s on!

Along the same line as our new organic hot teas, as the weather gets warmer, we will be offering our very own iced tea blends!

Of course all our usual favourites are back from The Classic Organic Beef Burger, Wild Salmon and Chicken Breast Burgers, to our SilverKing Organic Marinated Tofu Cutlets.  Our popular Santa Fe Curry Wraps with your choice of wild salmon, chicken or organic tofu will bring nourishment to your senses.  All of our buns are still baked fresh by the Kootenay Bakery Coop Cafe and, of course, are organic.

We source as much organic and local as we can.  We recycle and are looking for a new composting option this year!  Our cups are biodegradable and we use real mugs for our coffee…..The Rose Garden Cafe has been green for 10 years!

We have our green tea frappes, mocha frappes, and smoothies which will have some lovely add ons of fresh fruit or protein power.  We are serving our own Rose Garden Cafe blend of Oso Negro Coffee, and hot chocolate with whipped cream as another hot drink option.

The Rose Garden Cafe is officially opening for the 2011 summer season this Saturday, May 28.

We are very excited to be back!  We have been in the cafe painting and cleaning, organizing and planning.

We are just getting ready to start up our new website for The Rose Garden Cafe.  We will post our menu, hours and all the news we have to share for the summer of 2011.

We are very much looking forward to opening this summer!!!!  We have new ideas and a new look we are working on…..so keep in touch or stop by at the end of May while we are preparing to open!

As I close my eyes, I can just see Lakeside Park in all its summer splendor…flowers blooming, large beautiful trees, the sun sparkling on the water, children’s voices laughing as they play, the soft sound of the tennis balls being batted back and forth, the presence of someone quietly walking the labryinth, the bell of the street car, family picnics, and sunbathers on the beach.

We love being part of this each summer and cooking for you and your family!  This is our 10th year and it has become a yearly ritual for many to await the opening of The Rose Garden Cafe.

As we begin to unfold all our new ideas, I will keep you updated!  For now, I plant the seed of excitement!
